Limiting conditions, falls, trips, and accidents occur, but their impact and severity can be significantly reduced by
building a resilient body capable of compensating and recovering when out of balance.
Through techniques and exercises, we can learn to correct ourselves and develop
strategies to restore balance abilities. My passion lies in empowering people to overcome
their perceived limitations and inspiring clients to stay functional and active throughout their lives.
I find that it gives people an incentive to progress with exercise if there is a friendly
encouraging person to check in on them at regular periods. A reduction in Client mobility
may be prevented or mitigated if periodic check-ins are provided.
Observational checks of blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturations and peak flow readings can be
undertaken at the time of a visit and can all be provided to be relayed by the Client to their
GP or medical team as a form of regular monitoring and for ongoing peace of mind.
Having a chat about any ongoing concerns can be as important as the home exercise programme.
Offering advice about how to potentially find a path to solve a multitude of issues can be
essential for the Client's, or their Guardian's peace of mind. This can include suggestions
about which services to approach for medical, social or household concerns (my role as a Patient
Care Co-ordinator/Social Prescriber, involved finding solutions and pathways for many of these sorts
of Client questions).
I have worked with a range of clients including those with Neurological injuries, Parkinsons,
MS, Fibromyalgia, COPD and Disabilities, also undertaking group and individual exercise classes
within mental health facilities. I am experienced in dealing with emergencies including cardiovascular,
trauma, diabetes, dementia, anxiety, chronic and acute pain-related conditions, addiction, allergies,
weight management issues and elderly frailty, falls & mobility difficulties.
I conducted home risk assessments in my NHS roles. I can offer advice if I believe a new home
assessment is needed, then advise people what to request if additional state-provided home additions are
needed or wanted. I can advise correct pathways for these requests, but am not able to guarantee the
responses and timeframes from NHS and Council providers.
I have a particular interest in assisting, developing and maintaining functional fitness for older
generations, but this does not just restrict me to Exercise Referral/Rehab, I offer Personal Training
Services for all age groups.
My service is aimed holistically, I review your lifestyle and ability, tailoring what can
work for you with an achievable, progressive programme that is sustainable.
I believe exercise should be a good mixture of strength, functionality and cardiovascular
activity to keep you prepared for life's ups, downs and unexpected events.
Alongside your fitness and potential weight loss goals, I can offer nutritional and lifestyle
guidance also.
I can benefit Clients by assisting them with managing acute and chronic conditions, thus
enabling them to develop strategies to maintain and increase their health, reduce dependent
relationships with primary care services, and enhance overall well-being.
Whether it's exploring some simple steps to help you move better, or diving deeper with a
tailored plan, I'm here to help you take control of your journey to a more resilient and healthier you.
This isn't a one-size-fits-all approach, it's a step-by-step program focused on getting you
feeling strong, and capable, at a pace that works with your life.
The plan we make together will be about making real, sustainable improvements.
Together, we'll look at what's needed to tackle long-standing issues, prevent new ones,
and help you truly move forward.
